Adam Opalski is full professor at the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw where he completed legal studies (1997) and acquired further academic titles (Ph.D. in 2002, doctor habil. in 2007 and associate professor in 2009). He is a scholar of the Polish-American Fulbright Commission, the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law in Hamburg and the Foundation for Polish Science.
In the years 2006–2015 Adam Opalski has been a member of the Company Law Committee to the Civil Law Codification Commission at the Polish Ministry of Justice. He is the co-author of amendments to the Polish Commercial Companies Code concerning: cross-border mergers, the reform of the financial structure of limited liability companies, the reform of the share capital in joint-stock companies and the reform of the general meetings of shareholders in joint-stock companies. Since 2013, he has been member of the European Model Company Act Group (EMCA).
Adam Opalski is the editor and co-author of the commentary to the provisions of the Polish Commercial Companies Code on the joint stock company and the author of monographs concerning groups of companies, European company law, the supervisory board of a joint-stock company and the institution of share capital.
